How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called the children of God!
1 John 3:1

A Father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families, he leads forth the prisoners with singing.
Psalm 68:5-6

Old Friends and New Friends

This past Sunday, Anna attended her first birthday party:
Naomi was turning 1! Happy Birthday Naomi!!
Naomi and Anna were 'roommates' in Ethiopia and after each travelling 7500 miles, they live about 5 miles apart. When they first saw each other, Anna had this great squeal, as if she was saying,
"Hi Friend! I've missed you. Let's play!"

They are one month apart in age, so it is my hope that these girls will be life long friends. What a sweet 'wink' from God to have a friend so close who came from the exact same circumstance that you came from. I'm excited to watch these two grow up together!!

We're so excited too that another one of Anna's 'old friends' will be coming home soon! Her mom Beth passed court on Monday and will travel soon! Eden, we can't wait for you to get home- it's long over due!!!

Anna's been going to therapy 3 days a week. She's been doing really well and now is able to sit up by herself for up to 5 minutes- I'm a proud momma!! One of my co-worker and her now 3 year old daughter, Morgan, have been praying for Anna for a long time. On Friday, Mogan stopped by to meet Anna- it was so very sweet. And Anna appreciated the break from her Occupational therapy session! Thanks for all your prayers sweet Morgan!

Yes, that's a tear on Anna's cheek- she's not a fan of working. During this session, Morgan saved her from playing with blocks and shaving cream! Enjoy the rest of your week!

  4. Look at her hair! And her belly! She's way ahead of Eden on that! It's probably a good thing our girls won't be able to talk to each other yet. I can just hear them complaining about their mean mommies who won't just hold them all the time and make them learn to do things like sitting up and standing up and walking and talking! :)
